Phantom is a free push to talk app for Meshtastic, sending fully offline, end-to-end encrypted voice over LoRa mesh radio. No account, no servers, no cell towers, no internet required. Your voice is transcribed, encrypted, and rebuilt in your own cloned voice on the other end, entirely on-device.
Meshtastic gives you a resilient, low-power LoRa radio mesh, but it was built for short text packets, not voice communication. Phantom closes that gap as a push to talk app for Meshtastic. Speak into your phone, and Phantom transcribes your voice on-device, encrypts it, and sends it as text over your Meshtastic-compatible radio node. On the receiving phone, Phantom decrypts the message and speaks it back in the original sender's own cloned voice. No audio ever touches the airwaves, and no server ever sees your data, making it a genuinely offline, encrypted alternative to cellular voice calls when there's no signal at all.
Free on iOS today. Android is in active development, with the APK available directly below for anyone who wants early access outside the Play Store.
The direct APK isn't reviewed by an app store, so Android will warn you before installing it, that's expected. Phantom needs a Meshtastic-compatible LoRa radio (such as a WisMesh Tag) connected over Bluetooth to send and receive. Read the Privacy Policy for details on what Phantom does and doesn't do with your data.
